Lecture 6 will focus on the momentum transport of the flow through the annulus of circular tubes.

The annular represents the region in between two coaxial cylinders. In this lecture, the coordinate system used will be cylindrical coordinates.

The objective of this lecture is to allow students to learn about:
- the derivation of velocity profile from momentum shell balance of fluid flowing through circular tubes ( with cylindrical coordinates).
- the derivation of related flow parameters.

The derivation of this system is similar to the flow of fluid down a cylindrical tube which was taught in the previous lecture. However, the differences included in this system due to fluid flows in an opposite direction from the gravity force are:
- the force acting on the system should be in the '-ve sign'.
- the absolute Pressure, Pz is Pz=p+pgz (plus) instead of minus.

Reflection
In this lecture, I learned the effect of flow direction with respect to the gravitational force. After getting a clear explanation from AP Dr. Bawadi, I am more confident in solving this type of problem. However, I believe that I need to do more exercise in order to master the derivations. We had a lab session this week which covers energy transport from a copper heating rod to the outer sheath.
